Project FORGE
Local performance engineering: measure hardware, run experiments, verify results.
The project
Measure. Forge. Verify.
Project FORGE measures local hardware and AI workloads, checks whether the measurements are trustworthy, runs controlled experiments, and can undo a change it cannot prove helped.
Its recorded V0.2 milestone adds Forge Desktop, an Electron application that drives the Python core through a bounded, allowlisted IPC bridge, alongside a statistical stability engine with warmups, dispersion statistics, and a per-machine noise floor.
What it explores
- Hardware and AI workload measurement
- Statistical stability and noise-floor checks
- Controlled experiments with comparison and undo
- Forge Desktop application over an allowlisted IPC bridge
Where it stands
Active development. The README records V0.2 and a packaged Windows build; the Python manifest still reports 0.1.0, so the milestone should be read from the README. No public release is confirmed.
In the ecosystem
A systems-performance tool alongside the infrastructure projects. No integration with other projects is claimed.
